stumped by this question in the California driver's license written

When you see X cars in the rear view mirror behind you, you must
pull over at the next possible place to let them pass. What
is X? (a) two (b) three (c) four (d) five." To this day,
we still don't know the answer. On November 2nd, 1999, the

ANSWERS
1. (d) See article
in Arizona Republic (7/11/99). Has he heard of a S&P
500 Index fund?
2. Oops, the answer to this question has just
been declared by our Annie to be 'off the record' ... and,
no, it was not Audrey Kingsley, who doesn't even know the
words in Tomorrow.
3. (d) To quote Audrey Kingsley, "I
would never go into E.A.T., unless it is with my mother. I
am not stupid, you know." Here is the photo
of this famous sandwich --- note that the bottled water was purchased
elsewhere. They did give him a E.A.T. paper bag, which counts
for something.
4. None of the above, as she was reading a book
borrowed from a library. Someone at the scene quipped that
she must be reading Bob Glover's book to see where her training
went wrong. That is categorically untrue.
5. (d) For evidence, here is a movie
clip of her pacing back and forth while talking on the phone.
She was telling the person on the other side (Patrick McPhilips,
in Chicago), "I'm going to put this down in my training log."
6. (d) The specs call for a passport-size
ID, but the deer-in-the-headlights look is not obligatory.
This photo was intercepted by Audrey Kingsley, who said,
"You've got to put it on the web." When asked for
reasonable cause, she said, "It is very important for me."
When this line of reasoning seemed to have no discernible impact,
she threw in the ultimate persuasion, "I know that deep down
in your heart, you want to do that too!" Huh ...?
P.S. This Craig Chilton fellow really does an amazing
repertoire of facial expressions ...
7. We weren't around to count and/or time.
You'll have to ask David yourself.
8. (d) First things first ...
9. (c) Kurtis completed the Central Park Winter
Biathlon, the Bronx Biathlon, the Queens Biathlon, the Blue Kats
Biathlon, the New York Biathlon and the Central Park Biathlon.
If you also count the Carl Hart Biathlon, which was not organized
by the New York Triathlon Club, he would have eight that we are
aware of in 1999.
10. (d) Although Audrey doesn't know it yet,
when she gets around to doing numerical methods for pricing derivative
securities, she will need to know about viscosity solutions and
the like ...
