25th Annual Awards
Party
Date: November 22nd, 1997
Location: Universalist Church, 76th Street & Central Park West
We have lots of photographs taken at
this historical occasion. It w ill take you a while to browse through
them, since the 30 photographs take up 1.5 megabytes of space. So
clear out your cache, before and after.
7:00 pm --- Cocktails, snacks, mixer
Photo
1: Nathan Klejman is munching
on some snacks
Photo 2: Meta-photograph
of Alan Bautista taking a photograph of Stacy Creamer.
Was there someone else behind my back too?
Photo 3: Candy
Strobach and Marty Stanton with drinks in hand and wondering
how the funny gadget (namely, the digital camera) works.
Photo 4: The digital
camera is a silent stealth device such that the subjects may be
completely unaware that they are being photographed. See how Jud
Santos is oblivious to the presence of the camera until it was
too late.
8:00pm --- Dinner (Food, Glorious Food!)
Photo
5: Gordon Bakoulis and Sylvie
Kimché are obviously very serious about their food.
Photo 6: Laura
Miller and Thomas Pennell are astonished at what Sarah
Gross is willing to try.
Photo 7: Diane
Lebowitz and Audrey Kingsley exhibit singular, intense
concentration.
Photo 8: The mediagenic
set always look out for media ops. Whereas everyone else focussed
on the food, Tyronne Culpepper and wife spotted the camera
and immediately assume the proper pose.
We have a number of triathletes on
our club. These tri-geeks are not exactly bulimic skinny runner-types,
and food is a major obsession for them. That is why it is necessary
to segregate them into a different photo section:-
Photo 9: Julie
Denney is absolutely beaming at the sight of the food.
Photo 10: Aubin
Sullivan and Ross Galitsky are moving down the food line,
as Ross helps Aubin look her best for the photo. Oh, by the way,
this is their second helping at the foodline.
Photo 11: Scott
Willett is contemplating and probing the food.
Photo 12: This is
a close-up picture of the double decker of plates of food in Scott
Willett's hand. Well, he did pay $35 to get in, he did have
to do a couple more loops around the park after the party and, above
all, he is a tri-geek!
9:00pm --- Awards
Photo
13: The Masters of Ceremony are Stacy
Creamer and Marty Stanton.
Photo 14: The Founders

on October 15th, 1972, David Blackstone first put down the

entry form.

Photo
27: Stacy Creamer and Marty
Stanton dance the night away.
Photo 28: Laura
Miller and Sarah Gross sure look like they are having
fun.
Photo 29: ... and
what party would be complete without Eden Weiss stripping
down to his tanktop?
FOOTNOTE: Unfortunately, the most interesting
photo is the one of Sid Howard that was circulating around
the room but cannot be published on this web site. That particular
photo was associated with a subway token roll joke. We regret that
we cannot elaborate any further ...
