Norwegian Run/Grete's Great Gallop 1997

(Note: These photos were taken with a digital camera. Jackie Cortez's very urgent question was: "Can these photos be edited? ... like sticking my head on someone else's body?" Yes, Jackie, it can be done. So whose body do you have in mind?)

  • Photo 1: Photo of a bright and cheerful team (left to right): Bonny Rozzo, Tyronne Culpepper, Jackie Cortez, Jud Santos, Stacy Creamer, Frank Schneiger, Rachel Latessa, Jeff Kisseloff.
  • Photo 2: Are Team leaders Alan Ruben and Ramon Bermo grumbling after the race about yet another mismeasured course (this 5K race was mysteriously transformed into a 3.45 mile run. Or was it 3.30 miles? 3.40 miles? 3.35 miles?)? Not really, because they have more important issues to discuss, namely the 0-0 tie between England and Italy, which enabled England to qualify for the 1998 World Cup in France and forced Italy to go through the playoff rounds.
  • Photo 3: Stacy Creamer, Jeff Kisseloff and Frank Schneiger pose for the camera. We don't see why Stacy has anything to smile about, given that this was probably yet another 5K PR wiped out by race mismanagement, following that 3.2 mile race in Queens earlier this year.
  • Photo 4: Tyronne Culpepper and Stacy Creamer are accumulating more media exposure points for the Media Star awards. What is Tyronne holding in his hands?
  • Photo 5: Laura Miller is about 1km from the finish in the half marathon race, which is probably why she has that look of content. Laura led our women's team to a second-place finish.
  • Photo 6: Jud Santos stands near a Central Park road racing landmark --- the Portosan Row.
  • Photo 7: Can you guess who this Central Park Track Club runner is. We make it real hard, don't we? This is another member of the women's half-marathon team.
  • Photo 8: Now try another one. This out-of-uniform runner is also a member of that women's half-marathon team.
