4: Frank Schiro submitted this photograph of Tommy
Smith winning the 200m in the 1968 Olympics because of a perceived
similarity with the preceding photo of himself. What similarity?
Could it be the hairdo? No way! Could it be
long stride and fluid form? Perhaps. Could it be
that grimace? Maybe. Could it be those tall black socks?
Yes! (Note: Frank submitted his own script for his picture; unfortunately,
like many others, he finds out that the content of this web site
is subjected to editing which is 90% accurate but the other 10%
can be frightfully wrong)
(Added 7/2/98) After seeing the Frank's photographs
above, a friend of his sent in the following: "Frank was too
modest to submit this photo,
but I am taking the liberty of sending it to you for the Central
Park Track Club website."
Note 1: The web site assumes no responsibility for this photo; please
direct all complaints to Keith Royster
Note 2: This photo is in fact very appropriate for Frank
Schiro, who was disqualified at the National Indoor Track &
Field Championship for lane violation. He did it again in
this picture!
