01: Here is the photo of the Central Park Track Club
contingent, in theory. In practice, not all eight are
paid Central Park Track Club members, for some are recruited
for the day and/or conferred honorary membership status, either
because of their perceived speed or because of the company that
they keep.

02: In this picture of the mass start of the race, we
counted twenty people and one dog. This means that the
Central Park Track Club contingent accounted for fully 40% of
the (human) entries.

03: The winner of the race is Raqui Bermo, who
checks his watch and screams, "I can't believe that I am
so slow now. Maybe I should give up that Ironman Triathlon
thing."

04: The fourth place finisher was Thomas Pennell,
our race organizer. His objective today, apart from having
a successful event, is to finish ahead of ...

05: ... his rival Dr. J.P. Cheuvront, another
triathlete who is brought up in the topless tradition.

06: Frank Handelman crosses the line without
checking the high-tech digital timing system.

07: Tyronne Culpepper's only objective today
may be to not finish behind ...

08: ... Sarah Gross, first overall female.
Sarah's time of 12:18 was a terrific confidence booster for
the coming marathon and probably gave Tyronne (12:18) a scare..

09: The overall winner of the race gets a hug from the
race organizer. The dog jumps up and wags its tail in
protest, "Hey, what about me?"

10: Raqui Bermo walks away with the winner's
prize purse and massive trophy.

11: The eloquent attorney-at-law Frank Handelman
(Esq.) goes up to receive the first veteran finisher's award
and was ... speechless for once. Was he blinded by the
sheen of the reflective strips on the race organizer's Central
Park Track Club jacket.

12: Third-place Steve Gerralts was an honorary
Central Park Track Club member for the day. Was it cause
and effect? Effect and cause?

13: Thomas Pennell gets close up to female open/veteran
winner Sarah Gross, while the whole row of guys leer
in jealousy.

14: This is the post-race line-up, Steve Gerralts,
Bryan (what's his last name?), Dr. Cheuvront,
Raqui Bermo and Steve Hartman. The race
organizer promised and delivered a respectable t-shirt.
