Long Beach Marathon

A few days after this race, our e-mail box was flooded by a bunch of photos from this event.  After looking at these photos, we were suitably appalled by their immoral nature.  We would urge parents to block this page less your kids pick up some undesirable ideas from this otherwise squeaky clean website.

  • Photo 01: The race starts at an ungodly hour (like 7am).  Even at this time, there were already two beach bums (Rori Spinelli and Luca Trovato) flexing their muscles on the beach that doesn't look so long.

  • Photo 02: Pretty soon, the large crowd on Muscle Beach grew to three with the addition of Alan Bautista.

  • Photo 03: This is a commemorative photo of Rori Spinelli under the Isuzu Long Beach Marathon banner.

  • Photo 04: Was that Pamela Anderson running by?  Even the two lifeguards from Bay Watch were watching the marathon race.

  • Photo 05: This is Rori Spinelli sprinting to the finish line, outkicking those two 200m specialists.

  • Photo 06: Luca Trovato makes sure that he gets a photograph opportunity with the medal-winning seeded (#6) female elite runner after she finished.

  • Photo 07: While Rori Spinelli gets a leg massage to relieve the aches and pains ...

  • Photo 08: ... the two guys were plastered all over Miss Long Beach.  Their explanation was, "When she found out that we were from the Central Park Track Club, she begged us to pose with her."

  • Photo 09: Not a moment to lose, as our 200m sprinters practiced passing the baton, using Mr. Spinelli's famous Olympic torch.

  • Photo 10: Alan Bautista makes sure that he gets a photo with a college marching band aptly named The Trojans. (Editor's note: Sorry, I am a UCLA Bruin myself and therefore cannot refrain from making trojan jokes at every opportunity ...)

  • Photo 11: ... and now it's time for the main event ... the ménage a trois ... with the signoff  message, "Wish you were here!"
