Women Shot Put

  • Photo 1:  Here is a rarely photographed member of our field contingent: Sarah Boslaugh.  Sorry, but the regular website photographer does not get to go to many track/field meets.   Besides, what does he know about field events?
  • Photo 2:  Let me speculate what is going on here.  Shall I say that mental preparedness is half the battle?
  • Photo 3: And now it's bombs away.   For the record, Sarah finished first in her age group.

Men's 4x200m Relay

  • Photo 11: Due to the small number of team entries, this race mixed sex and age groups.  Alan Bautista is the leadoff runner for the Central Park Track Club Open Men's team.
  • Photo 12: Here is the second handoff, from Val Barnwell to Luca Trovato.
  • Photo 13: The Central Park Track Club's anchor Archie Glaspy finished second behind a record-setting Masters team with former CPTC members Ed Gonera and Frank Schiro.
  • Photo 14: Luca Trovato had his personal photographer for this meet.  Here is Rori Spinelli with a bazooka-size heavy-duty professional camera.  Luca's parents came into town from Venezuela and caught the meet too.

Men's Mile Run

  • Photo 15: Paul Stuart-Smith surges into the lead on the first lap, but quickly backed off into last place before surging again.  Later, he thanked cheerleader Stacy Creamer: "Thank you for the cheering, and especially that note of concern that I could hear after I fell off the lead pace.  I was just doing a Tony Ruiz-prescribed workout --- two laps fast, two laps recovery, two laps fast, two laps recovery."
  • Photo 16: So was Paul running fast now, or just recovering in this photo?
  • Photo 17: This photo was taken after the race, so Paul is in rigor mortis.
  • Photo 18: This is Joey Gonzalez's first indoor mile race.  He said, "You should have told me that this is hard."
  • Photo 19: This is Anthony Baker, another rarely photographed team member.

Men's 400m

  • Photo 21: Anselm Labourne at the start of his 52.89 race.
  • Photo 22: This is Anselm at the half way mark, with the body leaning into the curve.
  • Photo 23: This is Anselm leaning forward at the finish line.
  • Photo 24: The start of the Men 40-49 race, with Richie Stewart in the foreground and Stuart Calderwood in the next lane.
  • Photo 25: Richie Stewart crossed the finish line.

Men's 800m

  • Photo 31: Raphael Devalle stepped up to the line with former CPTC'er Seth Okrend, now with A.U.R.A. International.  Raphael seemed to want to stand half a step behind the starting line.
  • Photo 32: Raphael Devalle asked, "How did my form look?  Give me some constructive feedback."   Well, let's see, those shoulders are a bit stiff in this photo; you need to learn to relax.
  • Photo 33: Tom Hartshorne and Duane Green (A.U.R.A. International) at the starting line.
  • Photo 34: During the first part of the race, Tom was closely followed by Duane.
  • Photo 35: In the last lap, Tom pulled away to win in 2:04.95.  This photo showed him sprinting down to the finish line.
  • The marquee event of the day was the successful world-record attempt by Sid Howard on the day when he graduated into the Men 60-64 age group.  The associated photos appear on a separate page.

Men's 200m

  • Photo 41: Alan Bautista and Luca Trovato are ready to start the race.
  • Photo 42: This is the finishing photo of the race, with Alan and Luca in the two inside lanes.
  • Photo 43: Archie Glaspy (foreground) and Richie Stewart (inside lane) get ready to start.
  • Photo 46: Noah Perlis and Richard Hamner get ready to start their race.
  • Photo 47: Noah Perlis in the final moments of his agony.  We are willing to remove this picture if he offers us the right price.
  • Photo 48: In the 200m, it is very important to get a good start.  Working on his starting block (not to be confused with Lego blocks) is ... Joey Ruben.

Men's 3000m

  • Photo 51: Jud Santos ran with the big lead pack in the beginning.
  • Photo 52: And then there were only three left in the lead.
  • Photo 53: And then Jud became the odd man out left in no man's land, but a perfect advertisement for PowerBar.
  • Photo 54. And then it was the mad sprint to beat 10:00.

Bonus Picture

  • Photo 55: Somebody was caught taking her pants off in a subway train under the watchful eyes of the Channel 9 News Team.
