The Artless Dodgers

This website is famous for the lively photos that are beaming with personality.  Unfortunately, some of our potential subjects do not appreciate our efforts and attempt to make evasive maneuvers. This page is a historical record of these futile attempts.  Given the persistency of this type of behavior, this page is expected to be expanded continuously over time.  We don't have to name any names here, because they are easily recognizable.

  • Photo 01:  The standard and instinctive technique is to put your hands up to cover your face.  In the case of this subject, she should have remembered to cover that very recognizable Pokémon tattoo on her shoulder.
  • Photo 02:  To be totally fair, you should realize that the photo-taking is not restricted to just members of the Central Park Track Club.  This is a photo of the person in the adjacent office cubicle to our photographer.  She has apparently been forced to use a paper bag to cover her head while she ate lunch.  Her explanation: "I don't want anyone seeing me eat a lunch from McDonald's."  For the record, her lunch consisted of a Big Mac, french fries and a large diet coke.
  • Photo 03:  Actually, not all dodgers are artless, as this one utilized a phalanx of cooperators around her to blow right by at the Lesbian & Gay Pride Run in June 2000.  P.S.  This was such a great piece work that even the principal could not recognize herself!
  • Photo 04:  Another school of thought is the belief that by making faces, one can become unrecognizable.  Can you tell who this is?
  • Photo 05Coercion does not have to be made with physical torture, as a mental threat may be sufficient.  Thus, the person on the other side of the office cubicle can see that her smiley character has been thumbtacked through the head, hung upside down and gagged.  To avoid the same fate for herself, she has agreed to make this short commercial in praise of our website.  Technical note:  It should be clear that her remarks were spontaneous and unscripted.
  • Photo 06:  Another method is to make a sign to put a hex on the camera.  A lot of good that does ...
