Boston University Valentine's Day Track Meet

On February 10, 2001, members of the Central Park Track Club traveled up to Boston University to participate in the track meet.  Our team has been training on the Armory indoor track, so that the smaller and steeper Boston University track was a cultural shock for some of us.  In particular, Kim Mannen managed to set an individual record of falling off the track four times during her 800m race.

After looking at the following two photos, Kim said, "Somehow I was on the track in both photos?"  She said, "I did offer a lot of excitement and suspense to the spectators, as they must have been going, 'Oooooo, she's off the track!  Ahhhhh, she's on the track again ...'"

For the record, Kim Mannen would have probably set an adult personal record near 2:25 (she was a fast high schooler!), but instead ended up with 2:31.71.  However, you can bet that she had more fun and excitement than ever.
