PRE-RACE ACTIVITIES

• Photo 01:  The reputation of this website is built largely around this type of photo.  It would be fair to say that no other running club website carry as many (or any!) such photos as we do (and if someone else did, we'd have to tell them that they're out of control!)
• Photo 02:  Lauren Eckhart is one of those who read the warning posted on this website.  Here she is waiting patiently in line, a captive subject for our photographer.  Meanwhile, Isaya Okwiya had ducked behind the tree.  Just one moment ago, they had said to each other, "The last thing we need now is for the photographer guy to show up."
• Photo 03:  Audrey Kingsley scratches her head and wonders, "It is extremely crowded here.  How am I going to get into the front?"
• Photo 04:  Sue Szubert and Stacy Creamer stroll across the park as the kids Joey and Sammy Ruben practice saying, "Mush, daddy!  Mush, daddy!"  The photographer was apparently late to arrive at the scene, as Stacy said, "You should have been here a minute ago.  They were both screaming their heads off!"
• Photo 05:  Erik Goetze listens to the national anthem.
• Photo 06:  Just as we would expect, Icelander Toby Tanser wins the award of most underdressed elite runner on this cold day.

WEST 97th STREET (1.9 MILES)

• Photo 11:  Waiting for the runner as well as his photo op is Warren Street coach Rick Pascarella, with Mike Wilson (of Millrose).
• Photo 12:  Toby Tanser in second place.
• Photo 13:  Great team running, with Erik Goetze, Alan Ruben, Isaya Okwiya and Richie Borrero.
• Photo 14:  Rob Zand is sandwiched between two other runners.

• Photo 16:  Popping up right in front of us to block our view of Margaret Angell was Guillermo Rojas, dressed in black ninja stealth uniform!  Listen, you have every right to dress however you feel like, but you have no right to deprive Margaret's many fans from seeing her!

• Photo 18:  Blair Boyer ran on the wrong side of the road (meaning, of course, that he did not run on the side where the photographer was positioned), but luckily the sea of people parted in front of him.

EAST 95th STREET (5.7 MILES)

• Photo 31:  Toby Tanser in second place, with a group of chasers.

• Photo 34:  Isaya Okwiya arrives at his point of the race --- 800m left to go and this becomes a track meet.
• Photo 61:  Rob Zand with Craig Chilton in pursuit.  Please note the different dress code for people from different temperature zones.  Just yesterday, Craig was spotted jogging around the reservoir --- in shorts!

POST-RACE ACTIVITIES

• Photo 51:  Shelley Farmer requests, "People think James Siegel and I are 'engaged', so you might as well as take our 'engagement' photo."  Here is the photo of the three of them, now and forever together.  (P.S. Sasha is suitably perplexed --- "What are they talking about!?  Did they ask me?")
• Photo 52:  This photo has Shelley Farmer, Margaret Angell (PR today), Audrey Kingsley and James Siegel.  The caption provided by Shelley is: "Two fast runners surrounded by two fat and lazy people who haven't been running."
• Photo 53:  Ramon Bermo complains, "This is a running event.  Why don't you take pictures of runners instead?"
• Photo 54:  Mary Jo Pasion says, "I am not a member of the Central Park Track Club, so you can't take pictures of me."  This comment led to laughter all around, as G'mo Rojas explained, "That is never going to stop him.  He'll just caption it with 'picture of latest non-member.'"  When asked if they plan to be at the Club Awards Party, G'mo said, "I don't know.  We're getting married and we have to save as much as possible."  But G'mo, don't you work at the venerable high-paying NYRRC?
• Photo 55:  Our last photo of the day is that of Sasha demonstrating what is going to happen to the other team if they beat us at the softball game next year.  Arrrrrf!
