Daniel Webster Statue

This is the spot at which we meet on Thursday nights most of the year. What are the words at the foot of the statue? "Liberty and union, now and forever, one and inseparable."

Question: Do those words apply to the Central Park Track Club?

The bushes around the statue is where some of us hide their extra clothing while they run.  Unfortunately, this practice is well-known to the local denizens, so you should never leave anything valuable here.  In fact, you shouldn't even leave anything thing that appears to be valueless except for sentimental value --- Max Schindler even lost his favorite multi-holed twenty-year-old t-shirt here.
